Quotes
“We’re pleased that a second Océ JetStream 1000 will soon be in use at Czech Post,” notes Sebastian Landesberger, Executive Vice President, Océ Production Printing. “The Czech market shows lots of innovative potential for high-speed variable data printing in full color. The Océ JetStream 1000 offers the smallest footprint in its class and provides everything required in an adaptable, powerful, digital printing engine. With printing speeds of 75 meters a minute, the Océ JetStream 1000 perfectly suits for Czech Post and its clients, since it can be readily adapted to meet changing requirements.”
Josef Kadlec, Director of the Hybrid Post Division, comments on the reasons for, and the circumstances surrounding, this decision: “By installing these Océ JetStream 1000 printers we are reacting to new trends in document printing and moving to TransPromo document production. Our target is to both satisfy our clients’ requirements and keep our leading position in printing and enveloping services.”

FULL PRESS RELEASE
High-volume full-color transactional and TransPromo printing at PostServis
Czech hybrid post provider offers new type of service with high-productivity Océ JetStream 1000 digital full-color inkjet printing solution
Venlo, The Netherlands, 22 November 2010 - Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announces that PostServis, a division of the Czech Post and the main Czech provider of hybrid post services, is installing a second full-color inkjet production printer Océ JetStream® 1000. Both printing systems – one located in České Budějovice and one in Brno – significantly widen the portfolio of services offered by PostServis in the transactional and TransPromo printing market and will help Czech Post maintain its leadership position in this dynamically growing segment.
PostServis continues to improve and optimize services for end customers
The hybrid mail scheme provides a full solution for bulk mailers of business correspondence. The customer simply emails a data file to a PostServis center, where it is transformed into a physical mail. The center does the printing and envelope insertion and immediately dispatches the mail for delivery. The reverse process – converting physical documents into electronic form – is also available. The customer can also order evaluations of the scanned documents, for example evaluation of returns.
PostServis has used toner-based b/w production printing systems, primarily from Océ, for several years to print mostly b/w transactional documents. At the beginning of 2010, Postservis´s printer park was strengthened by the first Océ JetStream 1000 full-color inkjet web-fed production printer to be installed in the Czech Republic, in České Budějovice, and currently the installation of a second JetStream printer is being prepared in the city of Brno. Both printers will significantly widen the portfolio of PostServis services on offer, enabling this print provider to strengthen its leading position in transactional printing business and grow into new, full-color TransPromo applications that represent the future of transactional printing.
The Océ JetStream 1000 printer brings many benefits
The Océ JetStream 1000 full-color web-fed digital inkjet production printer uses Océ DigiDot® piezoelectric drop-on-demand technology and water-based inks. Its nominal speed is 1,010 full-color A4 pages per minute, adding up to 20 million A4 pages per month. It allows double-sided printing up to the full width of the roll (520mm). The system allows quick, high quality and cost-effective b/w and full color (CMYK) printing, with upgrading options up to 6/6 mode printing. It is ideal not only for the production of transactional and TransPromo prints, but also for printing collaterals, brochures, magazines, books and many other applications.

Colorful future for production printing at PostServis
Josef Kadlec concludes “our clients are very interested in transitioning to TransPromo printing, but the process is not easy. Cooperation on both sides – the client and the provider – is absolutely necessary with regard to the optimal quality of data delivered, including the TransPromo document layout. Based on the volumes of the currently produced and prepared jobs, a transition of more than 50% of printed volume to TransPromo applications is likely.”
